Here it is everyone; The king of petrol head heaven! This Alfa Romeo Gran Turismo Veloce V6 Turbo Benzina. Now I want to make something perfectly plain from the outset here. This car is nowhere near perfect. It's noisy, the driving position is suitable only for a monkey, and if you dont tread it properly, I just know that ones a month it will suffer from PMT. Leave the top of the toothpaste tube, and in the morning itll throw a clock-radio at you. At 130.000,- its also quite expensive given its a 14 year old car, and to make matters worse: The rear seats are a joke, and though you may not believe it; the boot is even worse! It's OK if you are a P-salesman. Not so good if you sell broad beans. So to be honest: As a practical proposition, this car is useless! But, it does have.. the sort of looks.. that make a man.. want to wet his pants! And it's more than a pretty face!! It's got a pretty engine too, and what an engine!! Would you just take a look under the bonnet? Never mind the sound of this two hundred and forty horsepower turbocharged V6. Just look at it! And when you see detailing like those chromed inlet pipes, you just know that this car is gonna stear your soul, with an anguished. The normal two litre GTV is lovely to drive, but this V6? Its a mini Ferrari! The steering is just perfect! And then you got this incredibly acceleration; any gear, any revs and the throttle response is just so... CRISP!! And you know, dont worry about the grip, because this car has got the most AMAZING chassis! It's just not the sort of a car you can crash very easily, thats for sure! And the top speed is two hundred and forty. I swear! When new, there was only a handful of cars in the entire world, round a racetrack, that kept up with it. But of course, there are better sports cars available today. But not many. And on the road, you can sit back smiling in the knowledge that its still making other road-users pant with desire! And even after a long hard drive, you just cant leave it alone.
